Miss Philippines wins Miss Earth 2008

Miss Philippines Karla Henry of Cebu City just crowned as the new Miss Earth last Sunday night at Clark Expo Theater in Pampanga. Miss Henry who first joined Miss Cebu last 2006 and ended up as 2nd runner- up used to be a model in her province and worked in a hotel while studying Tourism. Early this year, she joined Binibining Pilipinas and considered as the most likely to win by we pageant fans but snubbed at the semifinal round of the competition where the winners will be sent to Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss International. But the half Filipina- half Canadian did not loss hope and last May she decided to join Miss Philippines Earth and eventually got the title that leads her to be the first Asian and Filipina Miss Earth.

Danielle Castano – the new Miss Philippines World 2008

Janina San Miguel, the controversial beauty queen who made famous because of her wrong English at the Question and Answer portion last March during the Binibining Pilipinas 2008 finals made a controversial decision as she surrenders her crown two months before the Miss World finals, the contest where she should joins. The contest also a controversial because it was first scheduled in Ukraine but the war that happened between Russia and Georgia caused the venue to change in other place and Julia Morley (the owner) chooses Johannesburg in South Africa as the new venue.

But forget that….I wanna focus on this new Bininbining Pilipinas World, her name is Danielle Castano .

Unlike Janina, Danielle speaks fluently in English having lived in US for …just count it for yourself…hehehehe. She is good also in Catwalk…meow…meow…

Aside from that, according to her interview – she’sstrong and determined to win the title, the one beauty title who never won by any Filipina, the close one was Evangeline Pascual.

Miss Philippines- Earth 2008

Last Sunday night, the new Miss Philippines- Earth has been crowned. Karla Henry, a twenty- two years old who represented Cebu City was the winner of the pageant intended to protect our mother Earth. Miss Karla Henry who first joined Binibining Pilipinas last March but ended up nothing, instead the titles went to not so deserving ladies.

She bested 40 ladies from other parts of the Philippines and Filipino communities abroad. Her father is  from Canada and before she joined national pageants, she worked in a hotel in Cebu.

Miss Philippines at MTQI 2008

The current Miss Philippines Air – Krystle ann Dizon is now in China competing for the Miss Tourism Queen International 2008 title. She is up against with more than 100 ladies representing with the same number of countries and territories. Ms. Dizon who was a runner up to Ms. Jean Harn last year at Miss Earth represented California (of Filipino community) at that time. Finals of the competition will be on April 10 in Zhengzhou, China.

Miss Island Philippines 2008

The Miss Island Philippines was held last Friday night at the SMX Convention Center beside Mall Of Asia in Pasay City. The show was hosted by Mr. Johnny Litton and reigning Miss Global City Philippines, Hemilyn Escudero. The two major winners of this pageant will represent the Philippines for Miss Tourism International 2008 in Malaysia and the other one will vie for Miss Bikini of The World in Caracas 2008, Venezuela.

HERE ARE THE RESULTS:
Miss IP-Tourism International – Karen May Manalo
Miss IP-Bikini of the world – AJ Surjani

1st runner up – Natalie Alvia
2nd runner up – Kristalyn Engle
3rd runner up – Athena Taccad

Reported from OPMB that Natalie Alviar won the majority of
special and corporate awards including the best in swimwear while
Kristalyn Engle was named best in long gown Both Karen and AJ recieved
P200,000 plus other valuable prizes from sponsors. The 23 official
candidates went home with 23,000 pesos in cash courtesy of PAGCOR.
